Medical & Wellness Status of Pets

In order to attend daycare your pet must be:
- Up to date on rabies, core (DA2PP) vaccines, and bordetella* vaccine.
- Two weeks past first or overdue vaccinations.
- Spayed or neutered as appropriate (please advise if your pet is not neutered and why)
- Treated for fleas and ticks in the warmer months.
- In general good health.

*BORDETELLA VACCINE: Bordetella (kennel cough) is not a core vaccine, but it is highly recommended for dogs who spend large amounts of time in group settings with other dogs. It is especially important for dogs who very young, seniors, or that have a compromised immune system. It is not 100% effective at preventing kennel cough, but it does often reduce symptoms, reduce your dogs discomfort, and can prevent the development of pneumonia.

If your pet is not feeling well (e.g. coughing, sneezing, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.), please do NOT bring him/her for day care or boarding for both his/her own health and for that of our other guests. If your dog seems unwell, you may be called to pick them up early to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. To ensure the safety and well-being of pets in our care, owners must inform us of any allergies, intolerance, sensitivities, illnesses, and/or physical limitations. Please note that if a pet has a communicable condition (e.g., viral or bacterial infections like canine papillomavirus), they may not attend until he/she is fully symptom-free, or has veterinary clearance. Should your pet require immediate veterinary attention, your pet will be transported to your veterinarian if possible, or to the nearest vet to our facility. Please note that as the owner you will be responsible for all medical and veterinary costs incurred.

Appointment Cancellations

Daycare cancellations require 24 hours notice, and overnight stays require 72 hours notice. Late cancellations will require subsequent visits be paid for at time of booking.

Daycare and Overnight Eligibility

All dogs should be non-aggressive, friendly with people, and not overly anxious to participate in group play. Owners will need to verify that their dog has not harmed or shown aggression or threatening behaviour towards any person or dog. Please remember that when your dog frequents the daycare play areas he/she will be in contact with many other types of dogs and the health and safety of all animals is our main priority. Similar to at dog parks, acts of aggression can happen very quickly and without warning. If your dog initiates an incident that is deemed unacceptable, staff reserves the right to remove your pet to a separate area for safety reasons and you may be asked to pick up your pet early. Owners are responsible and liable should your pet cause injuries or damages to other animals or people. We reserves the right to refuse service and permanently expel your pet from our facility without explanation. All dogs attending daycare or boarding are temperament assessed before their first visit. In order to continue scheduling daycare and overnight visits, dogs need to keep their assessment status current by visiting at least once every 3 months by attending regular daycare, or staying overnight. If you would like to book or schedule daycare and/or overnight stays and your dog has not attended for over three (3) months, an appointment must be scheduled for a temperament reassessment.

Equipment, food, and Toys

Equipment: All dogs attending daycare are required to have a properly fitted flat collar with an ID tag and a 5 to 6 foot flat nylon or leather leash. Harnesses and halters may be worn to daycare but will be removed during group play as a safety measure.

The following pieces of equipment are not permitted at daycare: prong collars, electric collars, bark collars, choke collars, citronella collars, martingale collars, metallic collars, retractable leashes, extra-long leashes, and face-halter style harnesses.
*You'll be asked to remove these items from your dog before you leave and take them with you.

As the owner of a pet participating in off-leash dog play, you assume the risk of damage or loss to your dog’s own equipment and you acknowledge that you will not be compensated for the loss or damage to the equipment.

Food Daycare attendees will receive occasional healthy treats (bits of dog safe fruit & vegetables, and freeze dried beef liver treats are most common) while at daycare but are not fed meals unless specifically requested. If you would like your dog to be fed, or if your dog has allergies, a sensitive stomach, or specific dietary needs, please be sure to communicate that prior to attendance. You must supply diet specific treats and food for your dog's consumption in these cases. These treats and food will be used only for them to the best of our ability.

Boarding Guests must arrive with a supply of food, treats and medications/supplements for the duration of the stay. If they run out of food we will make every effort to supply the same or similar food. The owner will be responsible for paying back the business for the cost of purchasing and travelling to pick up any additional dietary supplies.

Toys and Personal Items Toys will be used at the daycare supervisor's discretion, and we request that you do not bring your pet's favourite toys, bedding, possessions to daycare to prevent damage and/or resource guarding.

Boarders are permitted, but not required to bring beds, blankets, toys, etc for use in the evening and over night. They may be taken away if they cause issues between other boarders or resident pets, but will be returned to you upon pick-up. You assume the risk of damage or loss to your dog’s own equipment and you acknowledge that you will not be compensated for the loss or damage to the equipment.
